Welcome

Situated in the heart of Etruscan, Medieval and Renaissance Tuscia (Italy's best kept secret), two miles form the wild beaches of Lake Vico Nature Reserve, Villa Lina is a perfect place to rejuvenate in an atmosphere reminiscent of the old world. The property is an estate composed of five landmark historic villas surrounded by 100 acres of botanical gardens, exquisite fountains, a 1920s Olympic swimming pool and a working farm. The five historic residences are immersed in a vast and varied landscape featuring Classical Italian gardens, charming pergolas, as well as fountains inspired by styles ranging from the Baroque to the Metaphysical. The mood and character of the unique period houses, true to their essence, provide an ease for connecting the indoors with the outdoors by way of inviting terraces and verandas where you can take your morning tea or afternoon nap amidst scented geraniums, mint, old roses and grapevines.

One could either rent an entire historical home with its private pool and gardens, or several houses for large gatherings, like unique weddings, special anniversaries, seminars and workshops, or simply rent a beautiful room as a B&B.

The homes are completely outfitted with working kitchens where you could either cook your own meals, have meals prepared and served by a traditional Tuscia chef. Additionally Villa Lina has its own restaurant, "Il Fienile", where you may choose to dine under the ancient fig and walnut trees, while the peacocks stroll past. Both the personal chef for the homes and the restaurant chef, Paolo, draw on the bounty of the estate's herb and vegetable garden. Guests will be introduced to Villa Lina's own cold-pressed olive oil and quince preserves. Also savor the award winning flavor of the family's Castello Romitorio wines (Brunello Riserva 2004 won Best Red Wine in the World - International Wine Challenge, London 2010).

The town of Ronciglione is an easy walk beyond the Villa Lina gates. There you will find delicious local treats like gelato and pastries. The Baroque church, renaissance unicorn fountain and town hall, and the medieval castle and neighborhood are all well worth visiting, especially during one of the many village festivals.

Villa Lina is perfect for guests who want to combine relaxing in the Mediterranean countryside and yet be close to many of Italy’s famed cities. Just outside the gates of the estate you can catch the bus for the 45 minute ride to Rome making for a wonderful day trip of exploration.
